Friday, August 14, 2015. Teaching practice and Learning opportunities. I was fortunate enough to visit yet another school, leading the way around MLP. One thing that stood out was how students were able to talk about their learning. That was a good indicator that students own their learning. I could see that students enjoy sharing and collaborating with others. Students should evaluate their own learning to be able to tell if they are making progress.

Sunday, July 5, 2015. Discovery Friday - End of Term Reflection. The students are engaged, they want to be here, they are thriving on being able to direct their learning, they are producing full, insightful reflections and recognising their own steps independently. All of these things to me are incredible and I am so pleased that, on the surface at least, the programme has worked. Headache! Building a timeline of goals and milestones for their project? So yes.

My Teacher Inquiry this year is around getting to grips with SOLO Taxonomy. I was a bit sceptical about the whole SOLO thing, then I met Pam Hook when she came in to do some PD with us at the beginning of the year. I was won over, such a cool person. Straight forward in her approach, passionate about her subject and a great teller of hilarious stories.
